Ingredients:
Maple Snickerdoodles
- ¾ cup salted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup Wabanaki Maple Traditional Maple Syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 ¼ cups All Purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- ½ tsp salt
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
Directions
- Line two baking/cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat or a sheet of non-stick baking parchment
- In the bowl of a stand mixer cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together, until light and fluffy. I usually do this at medium speed for about 10 minutes
- Add in maple syrup, vanilla extract, and egg; beat until well combined. Don’t worry if it starts to look like it splitting
- In a separate bowl whisk together the dry ingredients, and slowly incorporate into the wet ingredients. I usually add ¼ cup at a time and mix between until all the dry ingredients have been added. Be careful not to over mix- only until all the dry ingredients have been fully incorporated
- Cover the cookie dough and chill for 1 hour
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
- Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl and set aside until needed
- Roll dough into about 1 1/2" balls, I use a cookie dough scoop and my hands, and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place 2" apart on the baking sheets, and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until tops have cracked and the cookies are set
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes
- Transfer to cooling racks and allow them to finish cooling completely
